Notes from Principal Dra. Cardenas
Some thoughts for the starting school year
Every morning, announcements begin with the Song of the Week chosen by our Music Teacher, Mrs. Dietlin-Anderson. Each day, different facts about the singer are shared before beginning the pledges. Listen to the song with your child and ask him/her what they remember about the singer. If they don't remember, give them the task to remember one fact they hear the following day. Having daily conversations with your child about their school day can help nurture trust and social-emotional skills.
From Principal, Dra. Cárdenas
Esteemed RHE Community,
This week, the first month of the year will be behind us as we enter the month of February. While the hype of the New Year slowly fades, may that which you set out for yourself stay strong. Choose to be the best version of yourself every day; choose to work with a goal in mind; and choose to see not a glass half empty, but a glass that is always full. And always remember that what you choose influences those around you. We have multiple engagement opportunities in the month of February and we look forward to working together to positively influence our RHE youth. It is they who are our future.
You'll see that one of the flyers below is for dress-up days in honor of Black History Month. As long as students are participating in the dress-up days, no uniform is required. On Valentine's Day, for our student safety, we will not accept any deliveries. Students will have a Valentine's Day class party, but those items need to be sent with the student or dropped off before Valentine's Day.
Keep scrolling below for this week's highlights, especially our attendance at 95% and two days at 97%! We know a high attendance percentage means our students are receiving consistent teaching to support their progress and achievement. We are grateful to see our percentage high again and ask for your continued support.
I hope everyone has a marvelous week!
At Your Service,
Dra. Betty A. Cárdenas
