The Weekly Jr. Oiler
February 28, 2020
Open House 2020
Our band and orchestra filled the courtyard with beautiful music while our Surf Team spread Hawaiian cheer. Parents and students looked in microscopes and tried out robotics in science, challenged each other with math games, and read and watched projects in core and electives classes. It was truly a wonderful evening that makes me super proud to be a Jr. Oiler!

Yearly Parent Survey Information
Each year, the district office asks all parents to take a short survey designed to gather feedback about our school. Students and staff are also asked to take a similar survey so that all stakeholders have input. In the past, the Panorama Survey was taken. This year, the California Healthy Kids Survey is being used as our district survey. 7th grade students, all staff, and parents are being asked to take a few minutes to fill out their thoughts about Dwyer.
Please follow this link to take the survey. The survey is open until March 6. Thank you for helping us move forward in setting school goals that are most applicable to our community.
District Updates
Novel Coronavirus
HBCSD continues to look to the Orange County Department of Education and the Orange County Health Care Agency for guidance regarding the novel coronavirus and respiratory illnesses. We encourage families to continue to practice regular preventative measures including hand washing and covering up coughs and sneezes. Please click on the following links for more information provided by the OCDE:
Community Connections Meetings
The HBCSD Board of Trustees will host four "Community Connections" meetings at our local schools as part of the ongoing effort to engage with our school community members. All meetings will include a presentation on the State of the District and recent Board decisions for the 2020-21 school year. All HBCSD stakeholders are welcome to attend any meeting. A panel of two Trustee members and two district staff members will close the meeting with a Q&A session with the community.
