Student Information for Class Placement 2018-2019

Just as a reminder, Lakeview does not accept specific teacher requests. All instructional staff work with the administrative team to create classes based upon various considerations, including those listed below:

*Student educational needs.
*Equalizing the number of students in all classes.
*Balancing the number of boys and girls in each class.
*Balancing the ability levels and needs in all classes.
*Teacher input
*Family input

Parent input is optional. However, this is your opportunity to provide any information you feel is pertinent. In lieu of multiple emails and calls please complete this form. All parent input is confidential and is submitted directly to Dr. Seltzer at Lakeview. We will use this information when we begin to build our classes for next school year. Thank you!

Soccer and Art Room Walkers

As we near the end of the school year, I would like to remind parents of students who are dismissed from school as walkers, but do not actually walk home, of few things.

It is very important that parents/guardians:

- Do not park in fire zones

- Walk to the exit to meet your student(s)

- Students are NOT to leave the building and walk to the parking lot with out a parent/guardian.

We understand dismissal time is very busy, we want to ensure we can keep all students safe. Thank you!

Camp Invention 2018 Hosted at Lakeview

Camp Invention still needs Leadership Interns (students entering 10-12th grades) to help facilitate Lakeview’s Camp Invention. It’s a great opportunity for high school students to earn community service and it’s an opportunity you can add to those college applications J Below is a description of the intern positions—if you have a student who is interested, please contact Mrs. Andrews ( ) or Tricia Hanson at ( ).

PTA Remind 101 Account

We wanted to let you know about a new way to help you stay connected to the latest Lakeview PTA news. We’ve set-up a Remind 101 account just for the PTA. As the state requires students to be in attendance 90% of the year, Lakeview will continue to follow state guidelines regarding this issue. If you have any questions we are happy to talk you through the process.

Absence notes are due no more than 3 days after the date of the absent. After 3 days, the absence will be marked as unexcused.

Parents please be sure to send an email to and your child's teacher by 1:00pm to communicate ride changes. We will not release students to ride changes without confirmation from parents regarding ride changes.

Birthday Treats

Big picture
We love celebrating birthdays with our students! When planning on bringing in birthday treats, only pre-packaged store bought products are allowed. To ensure there is time to distribute birthday treats to classrooms, please have them in the office no later than 2:00. We are unable to hold ice cream or popsicles so please do not send treats that will melt. Also, if a treat does not have a label of ingredients it will not be shared with the class. Due to allergies we must know the ingredients for ALL treats. Due to sensitivity no balloons are allowed in the building.

Facebook and Social Media

Social media is a great way to keep up with and in contact with friends and family. When you are posting regarding Lakeview, please keep a few things in mind:

1. Think before you post, your words have power.

2.Do not post pictures or information of children who are not yours. Privacy is important so do not post pictures or information about other students without parent permission.

3. If you have a question regarding events or information regarding Lakeview, your best bet is to always email your child's teacher or call the front office.

4. If you are unhappy with a situation or would like to share a concern, please always email your child's teacher or contact our front office.

5. Finally, stay positive. No one benefits when community members disagree on line.
