We are currently looking for students interested in representing LHS at Diversity Dialogue Day. Diversity Dialogue Day is a one-day high school forum that brings together students from public and private schools in a particular geographic area in Virginia. The Diversity Dialogue Day curriculum takes participants through a process of awareness-to-action. They learn to recognize prejudice and intolerance, and to respect others. Students work closely with their peers from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. Trained facilitators guide the students through small group learning activities that explore personal experiences with discrimination and develop conflict resolution skills. At the conclusion of the Diversity Dialogue Day, participants develop strategies for increasing awareness and promoting inclusion within their schools.

Viewing Athletic Events
This year all sports competitions held in a high school gym or stadium in Virginia Beach will be live streamed through the NFHS Network. Students, parents, and community members can watch all Beach District contests on any device with internet access by purchasing either a monthly or annual subscription. This subscription also affords the purchaser the ability watch any game played at any high school in the United States that is a member of the NFHS Network, and any VHSL state championship contest webcast on the Network. The cost for a monthly subscription is $10.99 and an annual subscription is $69.99. Visit www.nfhsnetwork.com for more information. A subscription to the NFHS Network will provide the user with access to all contests played by your favorite school’s basketball, gymnastics, wrestling, football, volleyball, and soccer teams.
Due to restrictions placed on the size of large gatherings at high school sporting events in Virginia, spectators may not be permitted to view Beach District sporting events in person. Any updates in this regard will be communicated to the community as soon as possible.
