Short Week in Review

We hope you and your family enjoyed the long Labor Day weekend. This week went by quickly for the staff and students. Several things have taken place: seventh graders received their laptops today, we have a candidate we are highly interested in for our vacant 7th grade science position, and both SBMS Football and Softball teams beat Hunters Creek Middle!

On a more serious note, we are approaching the halfway point in the first 9 week grading period and it is important that students do their very best. At SBMS, we have the PRIDE program that rewards excellence in the classroom. If a student makes honor roll the first three 9 weeks grading periods, they can go bowling and to a cookout at Hubert Park at the end of the year. If a student makes the principal's list all three 9 weeks, they will be able to go to Carowinds. Celebrations are also held at the end of each 9 weeks during the year for all students reaching either level, in case they do not make the levels all three grading periods.

PRIDE (Personal Responsibility in Daily Effort)

2 levels:

Principal's List (all A's)

Honor Roll (A's & B's)

A=90-100

B=80-89

Principal's List (all 3- 9 weeks)= Carowinds

Honor Roll and/or combo of Principal's List/Honor Roll= Bowling/Cookout

Come enjoy Kona Ice, Dem Boyz BBQ, and La Cocina de Noemi

Three food trucks and 30 vendor spaces will cover the SBMS parking lot on Saturday, September 12 from 7am-1pm. We hope to see you here. Come out and support the Pirates! If we have inclement weather, we will be in the annex gym.
