NEWS FROM THE HEADS

There were shouts of excitement and joy emanating from the Chapel on Thursday afternoon - our latest drama workshop or PSHEE programme? No IGCSE results for Maths and English were in and we are delighted with the grades achieved. Resulting from the GCSE exams taken in January 78% of Year 11 have their English qualification, with 38% at A* or A, and 73% have their Maths, with a pleasing number of the highest grades. World Book Day! Well…. What can I say? What a magnificent effort everyone made to dress up and engage with their favourite character from their favourite book. From Mary Poppins to Matilda, everyone looked fantastic and I was so pleased to see so many of the girls “up-cycling” clothing and possessions which they already owned. SHEENA WILDING
Busy busy week! Tuesday saw the children all happily tucking in to pancakes and learning about Shrove Tuesday. Wednesday was St David’s Day and the nursery classes were busy creating pictures daffodils using shapes to celebrate this. On Thursday the children enjoyed their “World Book Day” experience of dressing up in their favourite book character costume and looked amazing. We are selling the Red Noses as from Monday 6 March - please tell your daughter to come into the School Office to 'pick' their nose £1.00 each.

'3 for 3' Charity Week Monday 13 - Friday 17 March
Various activities such as 'Guess how many sweets in the jar, cake sales and donut eating competition' will be taking place during the above week to raise monies for charity - the girls will need small amounts of cash 10p - £1.00 to participate. Thanking you in advance and we will let you know how much we raise and which charities will benefit.
ISA Drama Groups
We are still awaiting confirmation of the competition date (Friday 24 or Saturday 25 March) and will advise parents as soon as possible.

Rowers Received the PTA Award
At the PTA AGM, the achievements were recognised of the quad who won the Fawley Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta last summer.
School Uniform
Due to our inclement weather girls can continue to wear their Winter uniform after the Easter break up until May half term after which the Summer uniform is compulsory.

Easter Event - Saturday 18 March CCJB
Our Annual Easter Event is being held on Saturday 18 March between 12-2pm. This year the theme is Alice in Wonderland. As well as the Easter trail, where you answer the clues to win a chocolate prize, there is a competition to make a hat for the Mad Hatter. More information can be found here.

Tuesday 7 March 2pm - GR to G3 Concert: All girls in Reception to Year 3 will be performing. Refreshments will be served from 1.30pm.
Thursday 9 March 2pm - G4 to G6 Concert: Thursday 9 March 2pm. All girls in Year 4-6 will be performing. Refreshments will be served from 1.30pm.
Wednesday 22nd March 6.30pm - Senior Concert: The Senior Concert this term is being held joint with the Senior Boys. It is being held on the College Avenue site. Please save the date. Further details to follow.
