The Blake Buzz
Week of February 1-5, 2016
*February is Black History month. Please ensure that your students are reading about African Americans and their contributions to our world! It would be great to see student writing, posters, etc. displayed in the hallway. Many of you will be updating your bulletin boards soon anyway. Please include the standard with your display of student work, no matter what it is.
The PTA Valentine Dance is this Saturday from 2-4p.m. Your help and presence would be appreciated by the PTA Board if you can make it. Feel free to bring your own children if you come.
Next Tuesday is Family Fun (Math) Night. Help is still needed for this event. Please let Melissa Culver or Ashley Snawder (Math Committee chairpersons) know if you are wiling to help out. It should be a lot of fun! All activities are being held in the gym and cafeteria.

STAFF SUPERHERO OF THE WEEK
TOSHA FIELDS was also nominated by Kristen Brumfield. She says Mrs. Fields is a big help in math because she pulls a group of students in addition to her ECE students to work with them in a small group.
Thank you to these two, and also to all of our unsung heroes. If you would like to nominate a colleague for Staff Superhero of the Week, the forms are in the office next to the large bookshelf.
Welcome to Blake, Mr. Leith!
Jennifer Larkins began her new job at the Ky Department of Education today. We wish her luck and happiness in her future endeavors.
