Four students from each grade are randomly selected to participate in the forum. Our two Student Board Represenstatives also meet with us to round out the students to 18.

What is PGHS doing great?
Teaching staff - they do a great job
Caf, food
Athletics - Football
Renovations
The anti-bullying policies - not seeing a lot of it.

All the activities that are available
11 out of 13 were involved in other activities.
Grading policy - 90 and above is an A
Like the music program
Teachers
Athletic program - teams are doing a great job of connecting, feels like a family, not being put down
The people
People are really nice to one another around here
GD - What are some of the positive differences
Teachers are better - they interact with you more
Competitiveness of the athletics - even for a small school
The teachers that take the class and make it their own
Really progressive considering our area
Teachers are preparing us for life not just classwork
Different academic programs

Classes - opportunity to
No phones - keeps people in engages
How is the phone thing going
People might complain but it is making it easier to keep myself focus
Cell phone - I can manage but it is a person to person thing

What can PGHS improve upon?
A group where we can get into the fitness center
GD - After the fall season MTTh until 4:30
Faculty bathroom in the science wing to be public
Need more SS related courses - limited in what I can take
Language dept - experience more on the cultural side
Travel more, provide experiences
More things should be done more on paper, less on the computer
Athletics - more interdepartmental respect
Teams having a game walk by and cheer
Music on the field before the games for warmups
Creative writing course
BZ - Do we have enough creative courses?
It’s growing but limited
GD - How many of you take advantage of the library for creative working
4 hands of 17 in the room
Math program is being held back by Cognitive Tutor
Thoughts on Math Program
Cognitive Tutor Learning is very cookie cutter, not feeling very functional
Don’t have the opportunities for the middle kid
Opportunities for other problems that are more real world
More on paper
More art options
Culturally focused food class.
Language courses - bring back french

Possible of doing it further down in the grades
I was at PV Spanish started in 3rd grade
PRIDE Period - hasn’t reached its full potential
ED - How can PRIDE be of beneficial?
A quiet place to study
Restricted to only joining one group
What do you dream PGHS could become?
Having a pool - having another indoor gym opportunities
Ice Hockey team - Could be formed as a club at anytime, costs would be incurred by the student member.
Theatre - More student run productions - students want to do more but they can’t
Flexible learning - student voice, student choice in the content
GD - Student starting later?
Some interest
Micro sleep - you body begins to shut down in small chunks
Brain shuts down around 1-2 oclock. 30min nap could be great.
Later time would be beneficial to those that are involved

See the equipment in the engineering rooms - It’s in the shipping crates
Wood working class.
Don’t utilize the resources - promote the resources
Find out how to have small classes so that people can be held accountable about the learning.
