NEWS FROM THE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS

~I want to give a shout out to Kelly Stowe and the Sunshine Committee for working hard to organize our Christmas party! Make sure to fill out the survey that was sent in order to RSVP! Shout out to Lilly for making our fireplace by the lounge! I'm excited to see all the stockings hung up there this week! This is a great time to drop a note, message or little treat to someone to let them know they're appreciated!! We all need "drops in our bucket" from time to time!!

~ Tomorrow is Literacy Night! We hope to have a big turnout tomorrow, so make sure to plan to attend! We will have a donation box set up where families can drop off toys, clothes, household items, shoes, socks, etc. All donations will be given to Community Link!

~ I am still looking for some volunteers to Skype with Eagle Mountain teachers/students about the vocabulary words! We are needing volunteers for the week of December 8th. If you would be willing, let me know! The kids would love this opportunity, and it's a great way to tie in the digital learning. Send me your name, and I will get you the information you need! You will receive a rewards (maybe Sonic drinks, perhaps) for volunteering. Shout out to Brittany and Rosa, who have already offered!

~ Your 1/2 day off "presents" and covered lunches begin this week! Make sure to look at the schedule, so you know when you will be going!! The email was sent on Friday to teachers!

~ If you are staying for the CPR class, that is tomorrow at 3:00 before Literacy Night. This is a great opportunity to become CPR certified, and our very own Nurse Amy will be the instructor!. Shout out to Amy for organizing this class!!

CAMPUS NEWS

~ We will have a staff meeting on today at 3:00. We will meet in the computer lab, since the book fair is in the library. We will review our PBIS/CHAMPS discipline system and look at discipline data so far.

~ We have had some students receive the "Word WIzard" tags for using the vocabulary words in conversation and in writing. Don't forget to turn in these sheets, so your students can earn these titles. We will announce the students' over the announcements in the morning, and they can come receive their tags! The best way to promote the "Word-Up Levels" is to make the students aware and encourage them to continue to use the vocabulary!! Shout out to Phou Ramsey for turning in 4 names last week!!

~ The spelling bee is Wednesday morning. If teachers in 2nd-5th want to take their classes to watch, please be seated in the cafeteria by 8:30!

~This Friday will the final session of clubs for this round. We will have another round in the spring. Sign ups will take place in January when we get back!

~ We have been having some plumbing issues in the staff restrooms. Please remember to only flush toilet paper down the toilets. Thank you for your cooperation!

~ The December spirit rally will be on THURSDAY, December 17th, since Friday is a 1/2 day. The Starsteppers from SHS will be there to perform, and our spirit rally committee will organize everything else!! They did a great job last week, and they're learning so much about communication, organization, and public speaking skills by organizing these events!
