Hawk Happenings: May 16th
Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy
Message from the Principal
Thank you for the fantastic Teacher Appreciation assembly last Friday. It was a wonderful event, honoring our teachers for the challenging but rewarding work they do for each child each and every day. We really appreciate all of the parent helpers that day. The school was buzzing with parents all day on Friday!! It really shows how much the parents value the work the teachers are doing and what a partnership we have with the families here at the school! What a treat. Check out the pictures below...
Have a wonderful week!

We prepare to say goodbye to Father Jose as he heads back to the Diocese of Spokane. He has been a real blessing helping out while Father Wagner was sick and even since he passed away. It has been wonderful having bilingual masses with Father Jose! He will be missed.
For the next 6 weeks, we will be hosting a new priest from Uganda. His name is Fr. Francis. He just arrived in Washington today and a few of the staff had the opportunity to meet him. He will be celebrating Mass with Father Jose this Friday and then he'll pick up all of the daily masses, as well as special events such as First Communion, graduation, and other masses between now and the end of June. Please welcome him!
Our official new priest will be announced at the masses this weekend and will begin on July 1st.
The Gala was a wonderfully successful evening, raising $195,000 for Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy. The "Supporters of Catholic Education for All" secured a $60,000 match. The first $60,000 in donations for the night have been doubled through the matching funds. We were also very lucky to receive some substantial gifts post the Gala which helped us exceed our fundraising goal. These funds are critical to our school's success, since 71% of our students receive some type of financial aid.
I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to all of the volunteers that helped make the Gala event such a success. These fundraising events, would not be the success that they are without all the parents, grandparents, and friends that give of their time and talent. A special thanks to the following who took on major Gala roles: Janet Lepore (plants and flowers), Jakeline Lemus (decorations), Jamie Chaloner (live auction), Gina Cole, Alyssa Illich, Heather Young (presentations/registration), Carrie Hernandez (program), Mark Brady, Ken Clifton (bar), Stephanie Hernandez (speaker), Ivan Achata and Nuria Rodriguez (organizing student entertainment).
