FJVD Weekly Info

We Live the Word!

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Father Doyle Families,

I pray you've had a restful and enjoyable break! We look forward to welcoming students back to school this Monday.

While we were not in school this past Wednesday, it was wonderful to see many families at the Ash Wednesday services at Saints John and Paul, marking the start of Lent. In the weeks ahead, students will have numerous opportunities to participate in Lenten activities including weekly Stations of the Cross (Mondays, 1:45pm), weekly Mass for middle school students, confessions for students in grades two through eight, and our annual Living Stations of the Cross. We look forward to these various events and activities which are central to our mission as a Catholic school!

Lastly, I would encourage you to continue reading through the announcements and information below as we prepare to return to school on Monday.

School Board - Open Session, Wednesday, March 1st 6:30-7:00pm

Father Doyle School maintains an advisory school board that meets throughout the academic year. As part of this advisory process, the board invites parents to attend open sessions with the board to share thoughts, ideas, or concerns about the school. The next open session will be this upcoming Wednesday, March 1st beginning at 6:30pm in the Rectory Conference Room. For planning purposes, any parents interested in attending are asked to complete this brief RSVP no later than Tuesday, February 28th at 3:00pm.

Mr. Mancini Pursuing New Opportunities

Our physical education teacher, Mr. Mancini, has decided to pursue a new opportunity and will be resigning his position effective Friday, March 3rd. A new physical education teacher will be shadowing with Mr. Mancini next week, and more information will be available soon. We wish Mr. Mancini all the best in his future pursuits!

Morning Prayer Service

We are so grateful to have parents join us for prayer service in the gym each morning. It is a wonderful opportunity to come together in prayer as a community, which is an essential part of our mission and identity as a Catholic school.

We encourage any families who wish to join us for prayer service to do so; however, we kindly ask that parents staying for prayer remain in the rear of the gym rather than standing with their students in line during prayer service. Doing so assists teachers with taking appropriate attendance and helps students transition effectively into the school day. Thank you!

Annual FJVD Auction - March 25th, Quonset O Club!

Come join us at the “Sand Sational Soirée!” Tickets are now on sale! This past week, we announced the theme of this year’s FJVD 2023 Silent Live Auction.
