Muskie Girls Soccer
Muscatine vs. Davenport West
The MHS girls soccer team entertained the Davenport West Falcons at the Muscatine Soccer Complex. The entertainment was mostly one-sided as our girls lambasted the Falcon goalie with 40 shots, 28 of which were on target. The final outcome was obvious from the moment Trinity Christi put away the first goal and finalized by extended shooting range practice. The soccer players from West were gallant on the defense of their goal and seemed to avoid the dreaded ten goal loss.
The defense of coach Nate Meineke latched on to another to go with three earlier wins.
Muscatine vs. North Scott
On a beautiful night for soccer, the Muscatine girls suffered their third conference loss, this time against a highly rated North Scott squad. The girls played well much of the first half and gave out as much as they received until a late goal deflated the girls just before halftime. Eventually, the defense broke down twice more and North Scott led 3-0 until Muscatine scored a consolation goal on a penalty kick by Abby Estabrook. Muscatine must regroup quickly as our next game is Tuesday against highly rated Bettendorf squad.
