Come Learn With Us!
Thursday March 12th at LaCreole!
Why?
We are our best professional learning network!
Technology integration can be hard to wrap our brains around, but in order to do it right it is important to have a support system you can access as we all try new things.
So in response to much interest in increasing use of technology in our building and beyond, we are going to run informal EdCamps throughout the remainder of the year. We will try to focus on the 4 C's of engaging learners: creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication.
EdCamp After Hours is a great way for us to connect and learn from each other in a relaxed and fun way! Come and check it out!
Teachers sharing with Teachers = Awesome!
Afternoon Snacks! Teachers need snacks too!
Together we are stronger!
March 12th Edcamp Theme Night - Creativity & More
Hands-on sessions will give you time to talk with others who have been using these tools and time for practice with support.
For a few of the sessions we have planned see below. If you have something you are using and want to share, please bring your idea!
We have included an Appy Hour which is not an hour, but a fun way for participants to share apps they have found that are really cool!

Some Key Highlights for our Sessions
Student Creativity Through Writing and Blogging via Google Hangouts
Want to know more about blogging with students, the benefits, the process and how to get started, or really curious about how Google Hangouts can be used for an authentic learning experience?
Guest Teacher and Blogger John Spencer will join us via Google Hangout. John is a middle school teacher in Phoenix, AZ.
A little more about our guest!
John Writes...
I'm a teacher, author, speaker, and incessant doodler. I want to see kids fall in love with reading and writing. It's why I cofounded Write About and cowrote Wendell the World's Worst Wizard.

Creative Projects with Students using Lifecards
Deanne Harms will demo this app she uses with her students. We will have iPads available for your use, so no worries!
Why use an app like this?
Students learn to develop letter-writing skills and design skills for their postcards.
Learning and Teaching Ideas
Use this app to get students to create a postcard to share about an upcoming school event, a day in the life of…, or an historical event. This app is perfect for languages and for many, many other practical uses for student engagement and skill building whether you are elementary or secondary!
