Blue Ribbon Award
We are proud to announce that our Edith Bowen Laboratory School has been awarded the title of a "Blue Ribbon School" for 2016. This has been an exciting process for us and we have jumped through many hoops to get to where we are today. This is an award that is only given to (aprox.) 250 schools in the U.S. per year and we are only one of two schools chosen in Utah. On Tuesday Nov. 30 we had a successful celebration with the school to celebrate and now have proudly displayed in front of the school the banner of our accomplishment. If you have the opportunity, be sure to congratulate Dan Johnson as we would not be where we are today as a school without him.

Mountain Man Rendezvous
This month the two forth grades participated in a Mountain Man Rendezvous where we were able to travel back to the 1840's and experience the life and adventures of a pioneer/mountain man! This was an exciting opportunity that allowed for the students to experience a much deeper understanding of the difficulties and differences in the lives of those of the past. This was an excellent conclusion to our westward expansion unit and something that will likely stick with the students for many years to come.
EBLS Election
We would like to congratulate our own Christian Franckowiak for his successful campaign and victory as Vice President in our EBLS election as well as cheer him on for his next couple months of office. We are confident that he and Jagger Francom (5th grade president) will work hard to uphold the values of our school and work to make it a better place.

Mrs. K's Last Week
This week will be my last week of student teaching in Mr. Baggaley's class! I have had an incredible experience working with your students and Stu and will be leaving much more technology savvy and prepared (as I can be) to head out into the working world! Thank you for this awesome opportunity to work with your kids this semester and I hope someday I get the opportunity to see them as gown little adults.
-Colene Kleinwaechter (Mrs. K)
