February Staff Meeting
We were scheduled to meet on Wednesday, February 10th. We will NOT meet as an entire staff because I would like to give you this time to meet as a grade level to debrief about Friday's PD session. Please use this time for further discussion on current BYOD practices and where to go with your future plans for BYOD. Also, please spend some time talking about how to close the engagement gap through student-centered approaches. If you have specific questions please let an HSE21 team member know.
Water Project
As you know we are collecting water for Flint, Michigan. Our collection will run until Thursday, February 11th. Fourth grade students created a service announcement they would like all teachers to share with their students. Please play the following message to your students on Monday, February 8th. If the link will not play directly please copy and paste it into your browser. If you have any trouble please let me know. Thanks!
Copier Jams
Lately we have been having copier jams that are not being reported to the office. This has created situations where copy machines are out of service for longer periods of time. If you are making copies and encounter a jam, please report it to one of the ladies in the office immediately. We ask that you also share this information with your parent volunteers. Thanks!
Science Fair Schedule
The HRE annual Science Fair is this Thursday, February 11th. With the addition of the Health Fair this year participation is down somewhat. In order to not have students out of their classrooms as long we are changing some logistics this year. Each grade level will have a designated block of time to visit the fair. Each block will be 25 minutes in length, but you do not have to go or stay for the entire time. Grade levels may want to communicate on staggering the time. Teachers should remain in the gym with their students during the visit. Participants will also have designated times to be in the gym to present their projects and will not be expected to remain in the gym for the entire day. Below is the schedule for Thursday. Please let me know if you have any questions.
- 9:30-11:00: All participants in the gym to present to judges
- 1:25-1:50: 3rd Grade Visit (1st & 2nd grade presenters in the gym)
- 1:50-2:15: 4th Grade Visit (1st & 2nd grade presenters in the gym)
- 2:15-2:40: 2nd Grade Visit (3rd & 4th grade presenters in the gym)
- 2:40-3:05: Kindergarten Visit (3rd & 4th grade presenters in the gym)
- 3:05-3:30: 1st Grade Visit (3rd & 4th grade presenters in the gym)
