A message from the Principal
Greetings MBE Families!
We had a great trimester one here at Morris Bye Elementary School! The students are doing really well with focusing on their learning goals and developing leadership skills through our Leader In Me program. In October and November our students had focused leadership goals:
Habit 1: Be Proactive
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
The students have also been proactive in having leadership jobs to help keep our building organized, safe, and clean with their own classrooms, lockers, and desk area. In the cafeteria during lunch time students have been helping with keeping our community clean. Grade 5 students have been busy as walker and bus patrol leaders, picking up litter outside at the playground and organizing our lost and found. Grade 4 students help organize a food drive for our Anoka County/Coon Rapids Community. The students had a goal to fill my truck and indeed they did! Ms. Wocjik, grade 4 teacher, led the grade 4 student teams to engage in this great community project of giving back to our community (see the pic) Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual food drive.
All of our students, K-5, have been working towards understanding that writing down a goal and having a visual action plan helps to achieve personal learning goals with keeping the end in mind during reading, mathematics, and writing time. We are very proud of all of the hard work our students have put towards their learning goals while helping to keep our community organized, safe, and clean!
Happy Holidays to you and your family,
Ms. Wahlin, Principal
Report Card Update
