Monday, April 11- Early release day
ELA Instructional Focus
Our instructional focus this week will be to...
- Determine the main idea and supportive key details of an informational text
- Analyze the text structure of an informational text
- Answer FSA type questions
- Practice responding to constructed responses
- Identify Greek and Latin roots
- Continue with "Typing Club" daily to increase keyboarding skills.
Please utilize the online practice test on www.fsassessments.org for ELA to continue to help becoming familiar with the online portal as students will be taking the FSA on the computers this year.
HOMEWORK: Complete FSA Reading practice packet.
Math Instructional Focus...
Our instructional focus this week will be on Representing and Interpreting Measurement Data. Our unit assessment will be on Thursday 4/14!
Students will...
- Create and interpret line plots that involve units of measure.
- Use addition/subtraction to solve problems that involve measurement conversions and justify their thinking.
- Create and analyze tables that involve units of measure.
Homework:
- Area and Perimeter Blueprint Project is due Monday 4/11.
- Students will be bringing homework home nightly that relates to the skill(s) taught in class.
Science Instructional Focus...
Our assessment on The Movement of Earth and its Moon will be on Monday 4/11! On Tuesday, we will begin our Life Science Unit. Our first big idea of this unit will be heredity and reproduction of plants.
Essential Question:
How does a flowing plant go through the process of reproduction?
