VOLUNTEERS WELCOME - ORIENTATION WAS HELD
If you would like to volunteer, you must attend a training BEFORE you volunteer. Mrs. Powell is our PTO President and coordinates the orientations, so please feel free to reach out to her. Please remember to always check-in and wear your badge when you are on campus. Some teachers prefer to have volunteers make copies and assist outside of the classroom. All assistance is GREATLY appreciated! (We do ask you not to come on days you are sick or if anyone in your household is positive for COVID.)
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS 🎈
Please contact your child’s teacher in advance if you plan on sending something in for the class for your child’s birthday. We only have one front desk person and we are unable to deliver items to the classroom so we ask that whatever you send, your child is able to carry to their classroom in the am. We also ask for you to send the very tiny cupcakes instead of the large ones, or donut holes instead of large donuts, etc. We want to celebrate and keep our students as healthy as possible. We appreciate your understanding. Please remember all items must be store bought. We can’t distribute homemade items per district guidelines even though they always look delicious!
HOMEWORK
Homework is EXTREMELY important. Please check your child’s folder (VPK-2) and Agenda (3rd-5th) for nightly assignments. Homework is not optional. Students who have 10 or more incomplete assignments don’t earn our fun GATOR PRIZE DAY at the end of every month. Please help us by having a regular routine for HW. Homework should never take more than an hour in any grade level. Lower grade levels have shorter HW. All grade levels have a week to complete the required Reading Plus HW.
DRESS CODE
It is important for students to be in dress code very day. Beginning next week, we will send home dress reminders. If you need assistance with dress code items please let us know and stop by the main office as we have donated items, many of which are brand new.
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL 🚗
Please do not arrive to school before 7:20! The staff at EG is not on duty until 7:30 and students are unsupervised. When you arrive before 7:20 the staff is unable to get in, as the cars back up and block parking for the staff. We really need your cooperation and help with this. If staff can’t get in we may need to ask the cars that are lined up before 7:20 to depart and go back around so we can get the staff inside to supervise your children. The same is true for dismissal. Please DON’T ARRIVE BEFORE 1:30. PLEASE PULL ALL THE WAY UP WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND DON’T LEAVE BIG SPACES BETWEEN CARS so we can fit the maximum number of cars in line.
THANK YOU AIRPLANE BALLOONS!
We hope you had an opportunity to see our EXTRAORDINARY Welcome Back Balloon creations and Banner during Meet the Teacher. EGES is so fortunate to have AIRPLANE BALLOONS as our business partner. They really made everyone feel welcome. We were happy to see so many families taking advantage of the great photo op! Please patronize our business partners!
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS 22-23
Welcome to our new business partners this year: Board and Brush Creative Studio, Star Realtors, Code Ninjas, Engineered Design Services and All Claims Public Adjusters, and our returning partners After Hours Pediatrics, PDQ, Chick-Fil-A, Marco's Pizza, Superstar Sports Camp and Airplane Balloons. Thank you so much for supporting our school! Interested in becoming a Business Partner, please contact Nicole Martinez at nicole.martinez.1@palmbeachschools.org or kareen.powell@palmbeachschools.org.
ADOPT-A-CLASS – PLEASE USE CASH ONLINE
Please consider adopting your child’s class. No amount is too small. All the funds go into an account for the teacher to spend directly on students in the classroom. Funds can be donated using CASH ONLINE.
PLEASE HAVE ID READY TO SHOW IN THE OFFICE
Please have your ID with you and ready to show whenever you come to the main office to pick up your child or to volunteer.
SCHOOL PICTURES SOON - NO UNIFORM REQUIRED
Students may wear any attire that you select on picture day as long as it follows the Palm Beach County dress code guidelines which include no short shorts, no spaghetti strap tops, or midriff tops etc. Uniform shirts are not required on any picture days. Our photographers take pictures that are high quality that look like you had them done individually in a studio!
COVID PROTOCOLS 👩⚕️
When should students stay home? When they are sick or they have any symptoms and you are waiting for test results, or if they have tested positive. When may they return to school after testing positive? They may return on day 6 after testing positive as long as they have not had a fever for 24 hours, and symptoms are better. If they return on day 6 it is highly recommended that they wear a facial covering until day 11. We appreciate your cooperation! It keeps EVERYONE at EG Healthy! The district no longer requires that we notify parents if there is a positive case in the classroom or school and we no longer do contact tracing.

Our Volunteer Orientation was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend. If you would like more information about volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mrs. Powell at egespto@gmail.com. All of the funds stay at the school and are used to benefit ALL students.
