Special Thank you to all of the volunteer gardeners!
I would like to send a special THANK YOU to all of volunteers (young and older) who assisted with the renovation of our courtyard area in the back of Boulder Hill on August 27. We were a small but might crew. We are part the way there. We will have another date in the upcoming weeks and hope that we can have even more gardeners come out to volunteer. Be on the look out for the date.
See the great pictures from that day.
Chromebook Insurance Open Enrollment
Hello SD308 Families,
It is once again that time of year to obtain coverage for your student's Chromebook, open enrollment is here! The insurance policy is for accidental damage and theft. There is no deductible and it will cover all repair costs and the cost of replacement should it get stolen. With the average repair cost above $50, it more than pays for itself the first time you use it and you can take advantage of it an unlimited number of times during the coverage year.
We highly recommend that every 5th - 12th grade family whose student(s) have a take home device to consider enrolling in this program. Attached is the flyer that gives you all the information on how to register, enrollment dates, and the cost. Thank you and have a great day!
Sincerely,
SD308 Technology Department

Transportation Update
Transportation Update
We understand that several challenges still exist regarding bus routes. Unfortunately, our bus driver shortage is compounded by our private bus service providers being unable to meet the volume of routes we contracted for.
When a route does not have driver coverage, another driver needs to go back and do a second route after their first one was completed. The staff is working to gather timing from drivers mid-route and communicate these delays to parents as quickly as possible. We recognize that it’s sometimes already past the anticipated pick-up/drop-off time when notices are sent- at this time we are working on efficiencies and have pulled staff from other roles to help reduce this notification time. Solving these transportation challenges are a top priority at this time, and we hope to have more information to share with you soon. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this time.
Bus Route Information
Your student’s assigned bus route is viewable in the Tyler Student Information System. For help with finding this information, view this page.
Not Riding The Bus?
If you student(s) are assigned to a route and you are NOT using bus transportation, please let us know! With the shortage of bus drivers, and the need to combine routes, it is helpful for us to know which students will be using alternate forms of transportation to get to/from school and will NOT be riding the bus. Please complete this quick four question form if we can remove your student(s) from our bus roster. Thank you!
How To Contact Transportation
If you have a question that is not urgent in nature, please use this contact form to submit your question/concern to the transportation department. Replies should be received within one business day following submission.
If your concern is regarding a missed pick-up, delay in the bus arrival/departure, or other urgent issue, please call (630)636-2999.

IMPORTANT! BREAKFAST/LUNCH PROGRAM NO LONGER FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS.
National School Lunch Program- Applications Required if Eligible
Food Service
The federal program providing free breakfast and lunches to all students during COVID-19 has expired and meals are no longer free for all students. However, for families that qualify, free or reduced meals are available with an approved application.
Free/Reduced Lunch
Those who qualify for free or reduced cost meals must complete an application. The deadline to apply is October 1. Information and the application can be found here. This is the same program that was in place prior to COVID-19.
Meal Costs
Students who are not using the free/reduced meal program will have the option to purchase a complete meal, just a beverage, or ala carte options from the cafeteria at Breakfast and/or Lunch. Junior High and High School students should have their student ID with them in line during lunch, so applicable charges can be deducted from their balance. Elementary cafeteria staff will assist those students with charges.
Adding funds
Parents/guardians can add money to a student meal account eaily using the PushCoin online system; there is no transaction fee for doing so. Alternatively, a check can be sent to the school and the funds will be added to the student account.
Meal Choices
Supply chain challenges have decreased, so we anticipate that planned meals and food offerings will be more readily available, with less substitutions. Ala carte options are returning as they were prior to the pandemic- offerings vary by grade level. More information about offerings can be found on the Food Service page of our website.
Breakfast
Breakfast is available before school at all locations. It is open to all, including those with free/reduced lunch, and those charging their PushCoin account. Snack items can be chosen during the breakfast service and saved for a designated snack time or for after school. Options vary by school and building level.
