Planning for our first-ever Maymester
Families,
As you may know, one of the main foci of running our unique academic calendar all year is that it affords us the ability to offer creative options to students during the Maymester term.
For some students, primarily juniors and seniors, the unique calendar allows them to take an additional college class during the Maymester.
For students not enrolled in college coursework during Maymester, our goals in scheduling include allowing them to earn additional high school credit, like PE or Computer Science, or offering "lighter" classes that center around engaging coursework that students and teachers alike want to tackle - they will be intellectually stimulating. They will serve as a well-balanced way to end a very rigorous school year.
We are all incredibly excited to offer this first-ever Maymester! That said, this is the first, and so parents and students, we hope you'll share your positive feedback and suggestions for improvement along the way so that we can grow as we think about 2022 and beyond.
Below are some slides to help you understand our scheduling considerations and let you know what you can expect for your student.
Before the start of Maymester, you will receive your student's schedule emailed to you directly from Ms. Rainsfor - be on the lookout for that important email.
If you have any questions about Maymester, please email me.
Warmest Regards,
Ms. Denney
