SUNSET ELEMENTARY

The students of Sunset Elementary Journeys to Careers class participated in a Community Service Week. The students learned the importance of Community Service and how giving back to their own community can impact the culture. The students were given an assignment to develop their own Community Service Project that would impact the culture of the school. The class came up with a great idea of creating “Compassion Kits”. These Compassion Kits were care packages donated to the School Counselor to give out to students in need. The Compassion Kits were filled with Encouragement Letters, school supplies, candy, home made stress balls, friendship bracelets, and other items to give to a student who may be going through a though time. Out staff here at Sunset are very proud of the creativity and hard work these students put in to be selfless and make a change for the better at their school.
