2015: Year in Review

By: Jo Stovall

2015 was a very eventful year for technology, music, movies, and more.

Companies That Used Great Marketing Techniques

  1. Progressive: has made a very well known spokes model named Flo. Progressive commercials containing this character are some of the most remember able commercials of 2015. By creating this character, Progressive has created someone that people will remember.
  2. Geico: Geico is another company that is very known for their creative and funny commercials. Geico uses their commercials to catch viewers' eyes and keep them remembering them.

Best Products of 2015

  1. Dji inspire (drone)
  2. Samsung Galaxy 6

Worst Products of 2015

  1. Hover board: I feel that the main reason this was even created is because of the movie Back to the Future it's obvious that these companies knew they would most likely make lots of money on this so called hover board, because of it. In the movie when the character Marty McFly visits the year 2015, hover boards are one of the many popular things. Because of the movie a lot of companies thought they could capitalize on this. These "hover boards" don't even hover and to me they just seem like the new Segway.
  2. Foot Hammock: This one is pretty self explanatory here, who would even need a foot hammock in the first place?

Top Movies of 2015

  1. Inside Out
  2. Hunger Games: Mocking jay Part 2

Top 2 Musical Artists of 2015

  1. Taylor Swift: I personally am not a fan of Taylor Swift, but I do think that she did very well this year. With her songs "Bad Blood", "Style", "Wildest Dreams", and "Out of the Woods" all gaining millions of views and ranking on the Billboard's Top 100 songs, making the "Most Powerful Women" list by Forbes Magazine, and a very successful Tour and album I would definitely say she had I year to remember.
  2. Ed Sheeran: Ed Sheeran also had a very busy year, he had hit songs like "Don't", "Thinking Out Loud", and "Photograph", and a very successful album and tour.
