Loveland Club 66
Welcome Packet for the 2020-2021 School Year
Message from your Site Director
I'm very excited to be gearing up for another school year. There will be many obstacles along the way, but I know that with all of the support that is around us, we will get through it together.
My name is Emily Kilcoin. This is my third year at Loveland and I have loved every minute of working here. This is a great group of families and children we have in the program and we want to welcome you to the crew! To learn a bit more about me, I have a BS in Child Protection and Juvenile Justice and am working on my Masters in Secondary Special Education. In the past, I have worked for Special Olympics Nebraska, the State of Iowa, and Millard Public Schools. My heart belongs with schools and interacting with kids everyday on their path to becoming capable, considerate, and caring human beings.
I know that all of the changes have been very stressful and hectic. I am going to do my best at giving you information in this welcome packet. I pride myself on being a good communicator and with information constantly changing, it can be difficult to explain what is going on effectively. That being said, once you make it to the end of this newsletter and you are still unclear on some issues, please do not hesitate to contact me. My contact information can be found at the end of this newsletter.
Staffing Changes and Familiar Faces
We have an excellent group of staff for you this school year!
My sister, Molly, will be joining us this school year. She is in her 4th year at UNO and is working on her BS is Secondary Education with a concentration in Youth and Training. We are very excited to have her on board!
Mrs. Jordan Harlow (formerly Ms. Jordan Young) - Lead Teacher
Mrs. Alison Davlin - Club Teacher
Ms. Molly Kilcoin - Club Teacher
Mr. Holden McCarthy - Club Assistant Teacher
Ms. Jordan, Ms. Alison, and Mr. Holden will be joining us again this year and we are so thankful to have them on our team. I couldn't ask for better staff than these too ladies. They care about your children a great deal and are wonderful leaders!
Yellow Status
As you all know we are in yellow status this means that students with the last name A-K will attend Mondays and Tuesdays, while the last names L-Z will be with us Thursdays and Fridays.
Club will still be operating at Loveland on school days and for the days that they aren't in class, our admin team is putting together a plan for full day care.
If you are in need of full day care on the off days, please fill out this form to show your interest and need. Google Form - Yellow Status This link was already sent out by Julie Oelke, so if you've already filled it out you don't need to do so again.
Pricing will hopefully be out by the end of today or early next week.
For those of you who no longer needed Club once we changed to yellow status. We will honor your Club registration and spot if we return to green status and you need care again.
Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Drop Off
- Center will open at 6:30 AM.
- Adults dropping off any child must wear a face covering.
- Club 66 children will need to complete the Westside Community Schools pre-screening for students, prior to attending Club 66.
- Upon arrival, please come down to the door where a staff will let you in.
- If you do not feel comfortable coming down to the door, please call the center at 402-390-2298 and we will send a staff out to you.
- Upon entering the building, students will wash hands with soap and water before entering the Club room.
- Parents will not be allowed into the building. Center staff will check your children in and out on DayCare Works.
- It is highly encouraged that the same adult performs drop off/pick up. Elderly adults and adults with underlying health conditions should not pick up if possible.
Pick Up
- Center will close at 6:00 PM.
- Please come to the door to pick your child up. Remember to wear a mask mask and social distance if there are other families.
- Upon arrival please call the center at 402-390-2298 if you do not feel comfortable coming to the door.
- Center staff will then bring your child to your vehicle where you are able to reunite.
Programming
We offer planned activities every day after school based on our quality indicators.
Five Quality Indicators
- Music & Movement
- Science & Natures
- Cultural Awareness
- Arts & Crafts
- Service Learning (Instead of small service learning projects every week, Club does one bigger project each semester)
Activities start every day at 4:30pm after homework and reading time has finished.
Breakfast & Snacks
Breakfast is included in the tuition for students who are signed up for AM only or both AM and PM.
Students will eat in the cafeteria where there will be plexiglass at the tables.
Health and Safety
At this point, officially, there are no more than 30 students allowed in a classroom. However, due to the lower attendance rate during Yellow Status, we are fortunate that this number will be significantly smaller. There will be no more than 15 students allowed on the stage at a time while in the Yellow Status as long as staffing permits.
Students are required to wear masks. Club will follow the same rules and expectations that they have in their classrooms for masks.
There will be frequent hand washing breaks and hand sanitizer set up throughout the Club areas. If you would like to donate hand sanitizer, please let me know!
Staff will be wearing masks at all times. They have been doing so all summer and are used to this now.
Please know that my top priority is always your children. I want everyone to feel safe and happy at Club. We are really excited to have all the kids back at Loveland and want to make this a positive experience during an uncertain and stressful time.
