Volunteers needed for Summer Check-in August 5th and 6th
Preparing for the Fall at Placerita
We would like to welcome all our new families of seventh graders coming into Placerita this fall as well as welcome back our former seventh but now eighth grade families. We have several things that we are adding or adjusting the process this fall. First, we now have a process for Online Registration (OLR) for this fall. However, we will still have a summer check-in process just like the old registration where we turn in a few forms, take pictures and buy PE clothes, etc. Secondly, we are having the Summer Check-in on August 5th and 6th. Students with last names beginning with A-K will come on August 5th and students with last names beginning with L-Z will check-in on August 6th. Those are the days that you will come to Placerita and bring paperwork and complete the process of being set to start school on August 13th.
The first thing we need to make sure we have complete is the process for Online Registration.
The window is now open for Online Registration to be ready for next school year that begins in August. See the attached letters below (English and Spanish) for directions on how to get started. Everyone has the ability to get ready for next year right now. So, to be clear, we have a process that has to be completed online where you will:
1) open an account with Infinite Campus (our online portal for parents) if you do not have one, 2) follow the instructional letters attached for specific directions to access your account,
3) complete the paperwork in the packet that will be mailed to your house in early July, and 4) come to summer check-in and complete the process. All four of these parts are necessary to completely be prepared for school in the fall. We will have regular reminders so we can get everyone complete as soon as possible.
Here are some troubleshooting tips for the most common call:
"I can't start Online Registration." - or - "I can't select a school year."
- Make sure you are clicking on the Existing Student Registration button. Even if the student is an incoming 7th or 9th grader new to that school, they already have an existing record in our Student Information System.
- Are you a staff member? Please be sure that you are signing into the Parent Portal using your Parent Portal login credentials. Infinite Campus will allow you to sign in successfully using your staff login, but that account is not tied to a household or students.
