Standard 3.3 Summarization & Generalization
So this week, during Walk-throughs, we would like to see the addition of the Summit Goal 3.3 Summarization & Generalization posted. Start introducing it this week giving the rationale of the goal and the following week, if you haven't already, include G.I.S.T. in your lesson plans as one of your strategies used to teach 3.3.
We've seen the strategiesin the rooms, but want to take it to the next levels to confirm students know WHY.
Walk-throughs and Observations have been great! Thank you for all that you do to prepare for your students!

SHOUT OUT TO PARENT CLUB!
Teachers & Staff,
Please take a moment to write a Thank You Note and put it in the Parent Club Box sometime this week! We have an outstanding Parent Club, so let's tell them how much we appreciate them!
JaniKing
Joel is now the administrator working with Julie and JaniKing. If you have additional concerns, please document them by sending an e-mail to Mr. Heath.
JaniKing has created a checklist with specific expectations to complete nightly and weekly, but we also have a checklist to contribute to the upkeep of our school.
Joel sent the following e-mail list earlier today.
Teachers,
We had a productive meeting with JaniKingyesterday. We discussed how things were going. We talked about how some things could possible be a little better. We also asked them what we could do to make their job a little easier. They did request 4 simple things we could all do to help them. So here is your check list:
1) Please put ALL trash cans by the door at the end of the day. This will insure all trash cans will be emptied and not missed.
2) Have your last class of the day pick up any visible trash and dispose of pencil sharpener shavings.
3) Clear the tops of your desks off. They are going to wipe down / disinfect student desk daily, plus door handles and high touch areas.
If you have chairs please stack them. Don't put on top of tables because then it make it harder to wipe / disinfect the tops of the table.
4) White boards will only be cleaned if they are empty. They do not want to erase something important. (If you want to have boards cleaned and save information, create a sign indicating what they should keep and cleaning everything else)
They really want to provide us a good service. If you have observations or concerns you can work through me. I am the liaison.
~Joel
Dining with Dudes & Eagle's Nest
Also, remember to select your Eagle's Nest recipient, send to electives and counselor, send e-mailed invitation to the parent and copy the grade level counselor & administrator (saved us last time when teachers were out on that day;-) Then write post card and mail it. This is just a reminder, as it will be included in the At A Glance next week, but don't want it to sneak up on you.
Looking Forward
Parent Teacher Conferences
Faculty Meeting
Fall Break...I'm sure I don't have to remind you to look forward to this!
ACCREDITATION REPORT
This is a report that most educators really have little to no knowledge about. If you are an aspiring administrator and would like to work with us on this report, let us know and we will show you what it looks like and walk you through some of the portions of the report. I was so thankful when I became an administrator someone had shown me and allowed me to work on it. Just send one or all administrators an e-mail of interest and we will work with you and your schedule.
