Seton School Newsletter

January 26, 2018

Holy Father,
You called Elizabeth Ann Seton to educate your children.
Inspire us, by her example, to find your will in the present moment.
Through her prayers, may we learn to teach others how to love like you.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Teacher.

Amen.

Brat Fry on Wednesday at Seton School

Please join us for our Catholic Schools Week Brat Fry on Wednesday, January 31 from 5:30-6pm. Brats, beverages, chips, and baked goods will be served. This is a great way to join in fellowship with other school families and learn new happenings around our school, all while enjoying a mid-week meal out! All donations will go to Make-a-Wish Wisconsin.

Our Mid-Year Celebration of Seton School will follow at 6pm.

Annual Fund Drive Success

Thank you to all who donated to our 2017-2018 Annual Fund Drive. We raised $57,756 to support Seton School! Our families, parishioners, and local businesses are amazing.

Parking, Pick Up, and Drop OFf

Morning Drop Off: Please DO NOT park in front of the school. Please have your children exit your vehicle and drive forward to allow for other parents to drop off their children. If you want to drop off in the back, please pull up along the drive-thru guideline and let your child exit the vehicle and move forward. Please do not block the drive-thru lane. Please DO NOT pull up to the stairway to drop-off your children.

School Pickup: Please park in the back parking lot behind the cones and wait for the students to be released. Please do not park or block the drive through lane, this is a high traffic area and we need to allow for free flowing traffic. Parents can park and then walk to pick up their 3K-4 students who will be waiting behind the cones with a teacher. Students in grade 5-8 may walk themselves and any younger siblings to a guardian's parked car.

3PK/4PK: Please wait outside in the back parking lot to pick up your child. The same rules as After School Pick-up Apply.

Aftercare Pick-up: Please ring the aftercare bell to gain access to the building.

Optional Parent-Teacher Conferences Are February 14 from 3:30 to 7:30.

Please feel free to sign up for a conference time that suits your schedule. If you cannot make one of the time selections work, please feel free to email the teacher to set up a time that works for all schedules.

Safety and Security

In August, a couple of Sheboygan police officers did a walk-through of our building to help us find any areas of concern for safety and security. One of the recommendations made was that we increase the number of security cameras in our school. We are in the process of adding a total of eight new cameras to the building. Cameras will be located in main hallways, the gym, the auditorium, and the school office. All camera feeds go to a digital recorder in a secure location in the office. Those recordings are stored in the recorder's memory for seven days and then are recorded over. Should we have a break in or other incident, we are then able to share the recordings with the police department.

As we increase our technology assets and as we face changes in society that require increased school safety measures, it is necessary for us to increase our building security. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Nardi at nardis@sheboyganseton.org.

Mystic Monk Coffee Orders For January

We are now accepting Mystic Monk orders for January. Order forms are available in the school office, on our school website, at the link on the bottom of the weekly newsletter, and the parish offices of our three parishes. Orders will continue to be collected monthly throughout the school year.

Weather and Other Closings or Delays

We will follow the Sheboygan Area School District in weather-related closings and delays. The exception would be days when Sheboygan Public is not in session. In that case we would make those decisions independently.

You can see our announcements on TMJ4, NBC26, and WBAY2. Closings and delays will also be posted on our school website, Facebook page, and Twitter. In addition, we will send out a recorded phone call and a REMIND.
