Husky Happenings
May 14 - May 19
From Mr. Martin
This is our last full week of school. I just want to say, “Thank You.” I am so proud to be part of such a great community, wonderful staff, and awesome students. As we bring closure to our first full 4 years of operation, I am proud of our progress. Our goals next year include confirming traditions of excellence. In planning for next year, we will self-reflect to determine what makes our school better and what can benefit our students.
This time of year provides an opportunity to check any fees that may be due. Please check your skyward account. Also, this is a good time to assess any chromebook damages. (Just look at their chromebook). This is our first year that 8th grade students will be turning in their chromebooks. They will get a new one issued when attending GEHS in August.
MINDSET MOMENT: I’m not going to tell you it’s going to be easy, I’m going to tell you it’s going to be worth it!

of “13 Reasons Why” Season 2 on May 18th.
The plot of the show continues to involve mature content related to suicide, sexual assault, and harassment among teenagers. The release of Season Two can elicit a wide range of emotions, thoughts, and opinions. If your children watch this show we encourage you to talk to them about the content. The website provided by the show has great resources and a discussion guide that will help with those conversations.

From Nurse Collins
*ATTENTION PARENTS OF INCOMING 7th GRADE STUDENTS FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR*
All 7th grade students will need their Tdap immunization to start 7th grade. It is required per Kansas law. Make those doctor’s appointments now to avoid the summer rush! Please turn in documentation to the nurse that your student has had the immunization. If you are unsure if your student needs this vaccine, please feel free to give the nurse a call to check or you can verify it in Skyward.
If your student has medication that is kept at school, please make sure a parent or guardian picks up the medication from the nurse before the end of the day on May 22nd. The medication will be disposed of if it is left at school and will not be carried over to next school year.
Any student who will need medication kept and/or administered at school next year will need a NEW doctor’s note dated after May 1st of this year. This is the same for Asthma/Allergy/Seizure action plans and diabetic orders as the nurse will need new orders signed by the student’s physician for the 2018-2019 school year.
Hope Begins With You...
Did you know that when you donate blood at the Trail Ridge Blood Drive on behalf of YOUR student that he/she will earn the American Red Cross blanket AND an invitation to a special ice cream party for student recruiters? Don't forget to write your student's name on the sign in sheet!
