Meet Mr. Renner
Spencer's Lead Learner, Chief Storyteller, and Principal
You are about to embark on a one-of-a-kind educational journey that only Brighton Area Schools can offer. This is one of the many reasons my wife and I call Brighton home and raise our children to earn a first-class education in this community.
I look forward to meeting you in person and helping make this year spectacular for you and your entire family.
As always, let me know how I can help.
A Little More About Mr. Renner
I hold an undergraduate degree, with a focus in Early Childhood Education, along with a graduate degree in Educational Leadership which were both earned from Eastern Michigan University.
I am a former Brighton educator, teaching kindergarten, first, fourth, and fifth grades. I left Brighton for a short time to begin my administrative career as a principal in the Brandon School District.
This is my fifth year at Spencer as principal, and the growth we made is AMAZING! I am excited about this year (even all of the unknowns!) as we try to connect with you on a variety of levels through social media outlets.
My wife and I have two boys, one a recent graduate from Brighton High School and our youngest a sophomore at BHS. We've found that Brighton has set up our boys for a bright future with many opportunities and hope you'll experience these same joys whether you're a returning family or new to the district.
Mr. Renner's Vision for Spencer:
At the completion of fourth grade, 100% of our students will be equipped with the skills and mindset that will allow them to thrive at Maltby.
Buckley our Therapy Dog
You come to work and get to bring your dog with you!
Buckley is Spencer's therapy dog, and I am his handler. This means he comes with me to Spencer in the morning and comes home with me at the end of the day, pretty cool, huh?
We also have another surprise as far as therapy dogs at Spencer, more info to come soon!
