The Bahmas consist of rougly 700 different islands, and has 2,500 cays spread across more than 100,000 square miles. Islands surounded by coral reefs and clear shallow water. see flamingos,parrots,iguanas and a variety of exotic under water animals.

the Arawalk tribe settled in the island (now known as the Bahamas) between a.d. 600 and 800 columbus came to the Bahamas 1492. the lucayans soon beacame victims of the spanish. the island were uninhabited until 1647 from when the English came. the lucayans population by 1515.

Bahamas indpendent member of common wealth. the 41 membersof the house are elected to five year terms. the legal voting age is 18 the 16 seats senatate are also elected to a five year terms.

ECONOMY

Tourism is the engine of the Bahamas economy. The sectore employs half of the work force. Most tourism is found in Nassau. But also strong in the familyislands.
