Why are veins blue if blood is red?

All about veins and blood
When blood leaves your heart, its not just wondering around your body. It plays a really important role to keep you alive. Blood travels through three tubes called arteries, veins and capillaries.
Arteries carries the blood around your body, as the blood gets further away from your heart it transfers itself into capillaries which transfers the oxygen to the cells who need it the most.
When you look at veins, they look blue because the light penetrates the skin to make the veins look blue. Veins look blue-ish green also because the blood thats in your vein is a darker shade of red, when oxygen hits your blood it transfers itself into a lighter shade of red.
I hope now you have a better understanding of this question and you enjoyed my little presentation. :)
