Bikers and walkers are dismissed at 2:35 pm, after the buses have cleared the lot. Please remember, that kindergarten and VPK students must be met at the bus stop by someone on their approved list. If no one is there to greet them, they will be brought back to Audubon. If your child is a car rider, please ensure that you have the car tag clearly displayed.

A Note From the Principal
A warm welcome back to the new school year. Our theme this year is “Every Child, In Any Way, Every Day” and the Audubon staff and I are committed to ensuring that every child is given every possible opportunity to thrive and succeed. The partnership that is established between school and home plays a vital role in your child's success. We look forward to offering many opportunities this school year that will be engaging, community building and will foster the positive relationship needed to ensure all students succeed!
To maximize the learning opportunities provided each day for our students, I ask that you please make every attempt to stay connected with your child’s teacher, and make sure that you have an active FOCUS account. FOCUS pins will be coming home within the first couple of weeks of school. FOCUS allows you to monitor your child’s progress weekly. The classroom teachers use email, Class Dojo, and phones calls to stay connected, and the Blackboard messaging system is used frequently by the school to keep families updated, so please make sure that the school has updated phone numbers and email addresses throughout the school year.
I wanted to make sure to let families know that we are implementing many of the same COVID safety protocols as last year. One way hallways, hand sanitizer stations, cleaning protocols throughout the campus, consistent seating charts for contact tracing just to name a few of the protocols. We will be following the district flow charts for contact tracing and alerting families of the need to quarantine. If your child is quarantined, it is our goal to keep the learning happening. Although there is not an option for live teaching, teachers will be uploading lessons into a Google Classroom. Classroom teachers will keep you informed should your child have to quarantine.
As the year progresses, I encourage you to follow our Facebook page and visit our school website frequently. We will keep these two platforms updated so you are always aware of the great things happening at school.
I thank you for sharing your children with us. Together we can inspire, love and teach them to be our future leaders!
Sincerely,
Candace Jones - Principal
Cpl. Alex Villa
Please help us welcome our new School Resource Officer (SRO), Cpl Alex Villa. Keep an eye out for a note or tip from him each month.
I have approximately 12 years of Law Enforcement experience in total, with two of those years as an SRO for Gemini Elementary. I am a husband and father of two boys ages 4 and 1. I enjoy working as an SRO, trying to bridge the gap between our youth and law enforcement. I believe positive law enforcement interaction with children is important to show our youth that police officers are not only here to protect, but to be a friend and a mentor they can count on and look up to.
As we are in the beginning of the school year please remember to always look both ways before crossing the street. Use crosswalks for safety and never assume the vehicle is going to stop for you. Always wait until traffic is at a complete stop before entering the cross walk. If on a bike please wear your helmet and walk your bikes across the crosswalk.
