Homecoming 2019 Preview
October 10, 2019
Thursday night we will have hall decorating so please encourage your students to pitch in and help out. On Saturday night, we are taking things up a notch this year with a homecoming dance here at school. Tickets are $5 and will be sold all week. Dancings not your thing? Just plan on attending any oneof the many games scheduled all week long.
Friday is class color day which is being capping off with a Food Truck Rodeo next to the stadium prior to the Homecoming Football game. Please stop out to grab a bite to eat and see which class won the spirit stick. The big announcement will be during halftime with the winning class on the field.
As always, thanks for your support of our school program. We have great students and we are fortunate to work with them each day.

Homecoming 2019 CanJam Rules and Daily Drives
The tradition of giving continues!! As a school, our students collected nearly 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food to donate to local charities.
In CanJam, classes compete against each other to fill the bin of other classes with non-perishable food items. The class with the least amount of food items in their bin each day collects the points toward this year’s Spirit Stick Contest. Points will be deducted for teams that tamper with another class’s bin.
In short, the goal is to fill the bins of your competitors more than they are able to fill your bin. Sounds simple!!
How do classes accumulate point?
Points will be awarded for the overall winner for CanJam as follows:
1st- 100 points
2nd- 80 points
3rd- 60 points
4th- 40 points
In addition, there will also be daily winners based on the collection of food from that day. At the close of each day, bins will be emptied and counted to declare a daily winner. Daily winners will be announced on Twitter and the Morning News.
1st- 50 points
2nd- 40 points
3rd- 30 points
4th- 20 points
Daily CanJam Drives
One way to quickly accumulate points on your opponents is to strategically stuff the bin of your competitors with special designated items. Here are the special target items for this year’s event
Tuesday-Taco Tuesday - Any item of traditionally Mexican food counts as 4 items.
Wednesday- Giving Thanks- Any item that would be served at a Thanksgiving dinner equals four items.
Thursday- That’s Amore- each item of traditional Italian food equals 2 items.
Friday- CanJam Day Each canned food item equals 5 items. Classes add to their own bin TODAY only
EACH DAY- ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL COUNT AS THE ITEMS FOR THAT DAY'S THEME.
Granola Bars
Peanut Butter
Jelly
School Supplies (notebooks, crayons, writing utensils)
Hygiene items (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc)
T-shirts (kid - adult sizes)
WE ARE PLANNING TO SUPPLY OUR THOMAS FOOD CUPBOARD, THE WEBSTER FOOD CUPBOARD, AND COLLECT A DONATION FOR HAITIAN RELIEF EFFORTS.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!

Titan Athletes of the Month for October
Tyler Langley- Football
Coach: Scott Deuschle
Reason why you nominated this athlete: Tyler is a multi sport athlete who displays leadership and perseverance both on and off the field and has overcome adversity. Tyler has been a key player on the football field. He was the leading rusher - Week 3 vs CC - rushed for 238 yds & 5 TD’s which earned him Section V, Class A Offensive Player of the Week.
McKenna Leask- Soccer
Coach: Kristen Hubright
Reason why you nominated this athlete: I am nominating McKenna because she worked very hard over the summer and is putting 100% into both the JV program and the varsity program. She got an early season injury and has been working on her exercises as well as staying positive and being a true leader for the younger girls on the team. She pushes the girls to not only have fun but stay focused on the common goal. I believe if she can do all this while injured, her teammates have great respect for her as a player, leader and teammate.
