Fun February
We are also in the final stages of our African American Read-In for Black History Month. This National Council for Teachers of English [NCTE] event started in 1990 to promote and celebrate black authors. As educators we know the importance of challenging ourselves to ensure all students "see" themselves in the literature we select over the course of the school year. While we are doing this as part of Black History Month, the WTE Equity team is helping to support making this part of our everyday work along with celebrating the many other groups in our school community and larger society.
Now we are looking ahead and finalizing our plans to celebrate Digital Learning Day 2020! It is an opportunity for us to showcase some of the innovative teaching and learning happening all of the time here at WTE with schools from around the world. Although digital learning is only a portion of what we do each day, the reality is that teachers are always working hard behind the scenes to advance their digital practice and it is only right that we celebrate those efforts!

A Note From Mr. Davis
Congratulations to all of our Wildcats for another terrific “Kids Heart Challenge” jump rope event! The children have worked very hard to improve their skills and it showed. Their skills and Wildcat Spirit shined throughout the day. Special congratulations to our 4th & 5th grade Coaches, who did a terrific job of leading and encouraging our little Wildcats in the afternoon session. Thank you to Mrs. Domizio, Mrs. Weinstein, and Mr. Kelly for all of their support. A special thank you to Mrs. Sarah Ward and Mrs. Heidi Ward for all of their efforts in making things run smooth throughout the day. We also wish to thank all of the parent volunteers who were so giving of their time to work at our event: Mrs. Demourtzidis, Mrs. O’Hora, Mr. Rosenfeld, Mr. McHugh, Mrs. Dakes, Mrs. Campitelli, Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Gaffney.
Our W-T community has always been very gracious in its support of this event. Thank you to all who have made a donation. For those families who still wish to make a donation, the last day to turn in your monies is Friday, February 21st. Following the 21st, our donation will be sent to the American Heart Association. The “Thank You Gifts” that the AHA gives to the children for donating will be sent to back to W-T usually by the end of March/early April. Once received, we will distribute the gifts to the children at that time. Again, our sincere thanks to all who donate!”
