Remote Learning contract
In order for this to be successful, we need your help! Here's what you can do to help:
❏ Monitor my child’s attendance by ensuring their participation within in-person and virtual instruction to the greatest extent possible.
❏ Ensure that my child engages in learning activities daily.
❏ Communicate needs to school staff that inhibit participation in daily learning.
❏ Respect the privacy and confidentiality necessary to create a thriving classroom learning environment.
❏ Actively support the privacy and confidentiality of all students by:
Never recording video conferencing engagements, meetings, discussions, lessons, small groups, etc.
Never posting images to social media of students other than your own child(ren) nor staff.
❏ Ensure to every extent possible my child understands and follows the previous statements.
Schedule - Grade 1 - 5
Please be patient the first few days as we adjust to our new schedules and meet our students in person for the first time. This is a work in progress!
Schedule - Kindergarten
All children, both remote and hybrid are being taught simultaneously and follow the same schedule. Everyone is remote on Wednesdays!
Families of children attending school in-person will receive an email message from their child's teacher. Please communicate who will be picking up your child daily.
Please be patient the first few days as we adjust to our new schedules and meet our students in person, some for the first time. This is a work in progress!
Grades 1, 2, 3 will enter through the Main Doors
Grades K, SCA, 4 & 5 will enter through door #12, the Kindergarten Doors
Teachers will bring your children to the same area for dismissal.
What to pack for Specials for Hybrid Learning!
Students Attending In-Person
Meals will be distributed on days learning instruction is provided. Students will be provided a bagged breakfast and lunch prior to exiting their building. On Tuesdays, students will receive (2) breakfasts and (2) lunches which will cover their meal for Wednesday. On Friday’s, students will receive three (3) breakfasts and (3) lunches which will cover the weekend.
Students Attending Remotely
Bagged breakfast and lunches will be available for pick up at the schools listed on the order form (pick one) every day of the week. Orders for pickup must be submitted each Thursday by 2:00PM for the following week. Please place your order for all days whether your child is learning remotely or in-person.
On TUESDAY, those who pick up meals will receive two breakfasts and two lunches.
On FRIDAY, meals can be picked up at the school you select on the order form below and students will receive (3) breakfasts and (3) lunches for the weekend.

Seven Day Meal Kit Option
**Please consider using this option.
Seven (7) day meal kits which include (7) breakfasts and (7) lunches are available for pick up on Wednesday at both John P. Stevens High School and Edison High School during the times indicated below. Please note that the order form linked below must be completed and submitted by 2 pm each Thursday of the week preceding the pick up date. (For example the form needs to be completed by Thursday February 25, 2021 for a pick up on the following WednesdayMarch 3, 2021)
(Dates and times may vary by teacher.)
These are early dismissals days. No small group sessions will be held in the afternoon.
You are able to schedule a 10-minute conference with your child's teacher using the conference feature on Parent Portal. Conferences are valuable time to help forge a strong relationship and assist the teacher in getting to know your child better as well as providing you with a progress update. Teachers will send you a link to join the virtual meeting. All meetings are taking place virtually.
Directions for grades K - 5 and SCA:
1. Log into Parent Portal.
2. Go to Student Data and select conferences. A link will appear that says “Schedule conference for Parent Teacher Conferences” for each available day. (See image below)
3. On the next screen, select “Reserve” to reserve a day and time for your child's homeroom teacher..
4. Select only one conference per teacher. An email notification will be sent to confirm the appointment.
If you are unable to attend the conference, please email the teacher to cancel or change/reschedule your appointment in the Parent Portal. This is a courtesy to the teacher.
Ms. Ford for instrumental music and Ms. Riley, gifted and talented teacher, will contact families about signing up for conferences through sign-up genius.
