Recording Outstanding Education

Volume II, No. 24

Nassau County School District continues to have positive events occurring on our campuses. Take a look at some of the things that have happened recently.

Financial Reality Fair

Yulee High School students were able to participate in the Vystar Reality Fair. During this event, "stores" were set-up for students to purchase items within their budget. Some of the stores included housing, groceries, gas, and entertainment. It was a great experience learning how to manage funds.

Teachers of Tomorrow

Students in Wildlight Elementary's Teachers of Tomorrow Club recently took a field trip to Yulee High School. The TOTS were welcomed by the YHS FFEA members (Florida Future Educators of America). The YHS students gave the TOTS a campus tour and sent them off on a scavenger hunt of the school campus. Mrs. Thompson and her students felt the field trip was a great experience for the future teachers.

Mr. Powell, Director of Intervention, Prevention, & Safety Services, recently taught a few lessons at Callahan Elementary School to Ms. Walters' 2nd-grade class. Within this lesson, Mr. Powell had 'student technicians' to assist in launching the rockets. This video clip is from the third day of the unit covering the planets and rockets and after students had already launched the rockets. Students liked having Mr. Powell teach them about propulsion.

Shrimp Art

Congratulations to Bryceville Elementary's 5th-grader, Gabriel Adkins, for his Shrimp Festival Art award!
