Helping your Community

~What you can do to help~

Pesticides and other chemicals

Foods that you buy at the grocery store are full of pesticides and other chemicals. These chemicals cause cancer. They also can make you really sick. There are, however, ways to prevent this.

Gardening

Most families have flowers in their front and back yards. You probably do too. What most people don't realize is that plants that produce food also flower and can look amazing. My family, for example, have a pear tree that has the most beautiful flowers! Food grown at home would be completely organic and healthy. It also would be way cheaper. A lot of people say that growing your own food would be really time consuming. This is false. It wouldn't be take any more of your time that growing flowers would. Growing your own food is a easy, cost efficiant way to help your community. Do you want to make a difference?

Animals that produce food

Chickens are small and easier to take care of than dogs and cats. They produce eggs daily, allowing for a constant flow of food. No more last minute trips to the grocery store for that last ingredient in the cake. Home collected eggs would also be organic, plus they taste way better than store bought eggs, speaking from experience. If you are interested in maybe buying a chicken, email Avery Davis at ajd1893@g.coppellisd.com.
