Weekly Staying Connected, Edition 16, November 7
Major's Moment
This past Friday we were able to enjoy our first Santa Clara High school football game. We went to watch Alex and Lukas play. As we cheered them on, it was a great feeling to be friends. It just reminds me of how great it is to be connected and to encourage one another. We can love God alone, but the beauty is to be in fellowship so we are challenged to grow, forgive, serve, experience what God intends for us.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord." Hebrews 10:24

Christmas Toys
Red kettle season is here - ringers, musicians, come on out!
Christmas Red Kettle Volunteers/Fundraisers Needed
1) Bell ring alone, with some friends, schedule a lot of friends over multiple days and times. You’ll have fun greeting people with a smile (on your eyes) as you so hello to people at the kettle. Sign up for shifts here:
2) We have 12 physical kettles that Santa Clara oversees. We’d like to get these kettles sponsored for everyday that they are out in the stores. What we are trying this year in Santa Clara is to start an online initiative to sponsor a kettle. People can use this personal virtual kettle to track how much they have sponsored and have friends help sponsor their kettle.
Our long term goal is to have all kettles sponsored at $150 a day for the whole 30 day season. Since this is our first year in Santa Clara – our hope is to slowly begin this initiative. This year’s goal is to sponsor 12 kettle sites for 12 days of Christmas @ 150 each kettle - this totals $21,600. The virtual kettle can be shared via email or other digital platforms to reach out to friends, coworkers, and family members. Easily set up your own kettle below and be a “fundraiser”.
Kettle Sponsorship through the Virtual Kettle
3) For those who want to share on online kettle and want to keep your name our of it, here’s another option for you to raise funds by sharing this link.
Friendly competitions amongst service groups, school groups, coworkers, businesses, families are always a hit!
Young Adult Retreat
This year’s theme is “Surrounded!”(Hebrews 12:1). The theme “Surrounded” has a dual meaning. The first meaning is that we live in a world surrounded by sin and other negative forces. Secondly, we are also surrounded by the presence of God and His heavenly armies, so we do not need to fear!
We have special guests who are joining our young adult retreat 2022.
- Guest Speakers – Captains Emmanuel & Jennifer Masango: they are our new territorial youth & candidate secretaries.
- Worship Leader – David & Jenna Grace May: Jenna and her husband, David, travel together leading worship and sharing the love of Jesus all across the county. (More information about them: https://www.jennagracemay.com/)
