Just Dance!
We are bringing Broadway Musical Theatre Dance Masterclasses to Ashburn this March 5-7th. Creative Stages is partnering with Rock Ridge Performing Arts to bring a technique-ly fun dance class. Come work with talented professionals on honing your dance skills for your next audition, show, or another project in between. Classes will be hands-on, personalized, and meet you where you are with your movement experience. No prior experience or preparation is required. All dancers and movers are welcome!
On day one, we will have a professional-level dance audition call to help you understand the experience of auditioning in the biz of theatre. You will learn a combination of classic Broadway styles and put your skills to the test (all will be “cast”). We will then put you in matched ability groups for the remaining masterclasses. Day two and three will explore various techniques, musical theatre dance skills, combinations using classic Broadway-inspired tunes, and camera work to help you shape your next at-home audition or callback. You will learn more about not one, not two, but three different styles of musical theatre dance!
Also, In the world of zoom auditions and callbacks exploding, we want to help you stand out even through your screens. We will have practice sides or you can bring a one-minute monologue for the sessions on self-tapes or zoom callbacks. So put on something nice, yet comfortable to move in, pull out those character shoes, and get ready for an extended weekend full of theatre. When we finish, you’ll be wishing you “could have danced, danced, danced all night…” Rising 9th-Graduating 12th are welcome to join the jazz hands style of fun and we will end Monday with a community preview from 4-5 pm.
