Thank you to all who were able to come to Back to School Night. It was so nice to see so many families in person here at Middlebrook. Our Spirit Wear was a big hit!! PTA sold many of our leftover favorites from last year. New Spirit Wear is coming soon!
If you haven't done so already, please mark your calendars for Monday, September 19th which is our first PTA meeting, 7:15pm in the school library. Parents make a difference! There are so many ways to get involved. Please consider joining:)
ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Please take the time to fill out the TPS volunteer form for the 2022-2023 school year if you plan on visiting your child's classroom, volunteering during the school day or chaperoning a field trip!
In the interest of child safety, the Trumbull Public Schools runs a security check on people interested in volunteering in our schools. If you are interested in volunteering, please be sure to fill out the volunteer form:
https://www.trumbullps.org/Attachments/boe/volunteerforms201920.pdf and mail or drop it off at Middlebrook School so it can be processed. All submitted forms need to have an original signature, therefore forms can not be emailed or faxed.
Be sure to:
- Submit forms with the original signature (no emailed or faxed forms will be accepted)
- Fill out both pages of the form 6 to 8 weeks prior to time of volunteering
- Be sure to complete all sections of the form- If there is no information to provide, please write “N/A”. For example, father's maiden name needs to be filled in with N/A. (do not leave any cells blank or it will be returned back to us.)
- Send completed forms to Middlebrook School, 220 Middlebrooks Avenue, Trumbull, CT 06611
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Warm Regards,
Debbie Ponte, Principal

CHET Dream Big
The CHET Dream Big! Competition will launch on September 7! This competition is brought to you by the Connecticut State Treasurer’s Office as Trustee of the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET). Dream Big! is open to all Connecticut residents in grades K-12.
We need your help to make sure students and their families know about this opportunity to win contributions to their CHET 529 college savings plans! This year, the Dream Big! Competition prizes have increased in value. We will be awarding more than $450,000 in CHET 529 College Savings Plan – Direct Plan (“CHET 529 Direct Plan”) account contributions to students in grades K-12 and technology prizes to schools. For the prize-winning students, we will be awarding:
3 $25,000 prizes
15 $7500.00 prizes
240 $500 prizes
To enter, students are asked to answer, in the form of a drawing, short essay or video, a question focusing on their dreams for the future (depending on their Grade Level Group, as defined in the Competition Official Rules). Submissions must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. on October 21. For program details, rules and regulations, and to enter, visit:
www.ChetDreamBig.com And this year, entering is easier than ever!
Your school could win a prize too! Each school in Connecticut that is represented by at least one student entry will be eligible for a random drawing for a technology prize worth $7,500. A total of 20 schools will win a technology prize – and your school could be one of them! Please see the 2022 Competition Official Rules for more information on prize structure and awards.
While students can enter online, we are also sending you paper applications and promotional materials in the mail. We encourage you to share this information with your teachers, students and their families and consider making Dream Big! an activity in your classrooms as you begin your school year. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on October 21. There is no cost to enter. If you have any questions, please email dreambiginfo@dja.com.
Thank you for your support!
