Principal's Message
Abby Larson, MN Teacher of the Year Candidate
Lin Niu, MN Teacher of the Year Semi-Finalist
Allyson Wolff, MN Teacher of the Year Finalist
The celebration was inspiring, and a testament to the immense contribution that teachers make in our society. When a person decides to teach, they are giving of their selves, in a way few other professions ask.
This week, we celebrate all of our teachers for staff appreciation week! Thank you to our PTO for organizing ways to treat our teachers to a token of our appreciation. We appreciate our staff this week and all year long!

If your child is an incoming 6-8th grade student interested in applying for Subject Acceleration in one of the above core subjects, please complete this Google Form by Friday, May 19. Testing dates and additional information will be communicated as needed.Science of Reading
Teachers at Hopkins are committing their instruction to align with the science of reading to give kids the best possible education. Reading can be an adventure, and with practice, readers at all levels can learn to love it. It has the power to take us to another world, so as second grader Maida says: Keep working hard and don't give up! Thanks to the support of the Hopkins Education Foundation with their help in giving educators and students access to resources!

Are you a caregiver of a Juntos Spanish Immersion scholar?
Hopkins Community Education offers Spanish classes for adults. Caregivers who have kids in Spanish Immersion schools can learn Spanish so they can help and understand their kids by learning keywords in Spanish, basic grammar structure, and more. This knowledge will allow parents/guardians to understand students' homework and encourage children to learn at school and practice Spanish at home.
Click here to see the Spanish classes we have available. If you have any questions, please contact Gloria Cazanacli at Gloria.Cazanacli@HopkinsSchools.org.Native, Somali, Hmong, and Latino Parent Advisory Councils
