JANUARY 12 - THE RICHMOND MINUTES
Guide to Everything Richmond
MONDAY - NO SCHOOL
WEDNESDAY - ARBITRARY MONDAY (previously scheduled for 1/16)
Due to the snow day, we evaluated the impact of our scheduled Arbitrary Monday scheduled for January 16, including the number of instructional days per weekday this year and the fact that Tuesday classes have not been able to meet since prior to Winter Break. We will move the Arbitrary Monday scheduled for Tuesday, January 16 to Wednesday, January 17.
THURSDAY - CHARACTER COUNTS AWARD ASSEMBLY @ 2:30PM
Our second character counts assembly will be on Thursday at 2:30pm in the multi-purpose room. We will be running a video stream of the event if you cannot make it. If your child is receiving a special award, you should be contacted by your child's teacher.
FRIDAY - TWIN DRESS UP DAY

5TH/6TH GRADE FAMILIES - NEW DATES FOR JAMES MADISON MIDDLE SCHOOL ORIENTATION

Due to the school closure on January 9th, our JMMS Orientation for tonight has been rescheduled. We will offer two different dates as options for future families to attend. Both evenings will include a presentation and option for a self-guided building tour. Please attend the date that works best for you. We also understand that this time of the year makes it difficult for travels and with school events. Please know there will be other future summer options for families and students to visit the building and learn more about middle school at James Madison.

Tuesday, January 16th, from 4:30 - 5:30 pm
Tuesday, January 23rd, from 4:30 - 5:30pm
Wednesday, January 24th, from 4:30 - 5:30 pm

RICHMOND BINGO NIGHT - JANUARY 25th 5:30-7pm
RICHMOND'S NEW PHONE NUMBER - 920-852-5520
Over the summer the Appleton Area School District did an upgrade on our phone system. All numbers in the district were changed. Please update your records with the new phone number for Richmond. Also note that when you receive a phone call from Richmond it will show up on cell phones that the call is coming from Rosendale, WI.
With the winter weather arriving, please make sure that your child is coming to school with the appropriate winter gear. All students must wear jackets and have a pair of boots they can change into. KG-2nd grade must wear snow pants and boots to play in the snow, otherwise they will need to play on the blacktop. 3rd - 6th grade students can play in the snow with boots only. Hats and gloves or mittens are strongly encouraged.
We also advise that each child have a spare pair of clothing in their backpack. This clothing can then be utilized by them due to spills, snow gear "leaks" or for any other wet accidents. Even our upperclassmen run into issues with this from time to time. This will then alleviate any stress or negative feelings your child has when any issues do occur.
Thank you for assisting your child by providing clothing that they would be comfortable in. We will be going out in extremely cold temperatures.
