Weekly Newsletter
Dear Parents,
Sharing is an essential skill needed for play and learning throughout childhood. You can help your child learn to share by giving them plenty of time and opportunities to practice. Modeling is key when showing your child how to share. Provide them words and positive phrases that will allow them to successfully share with others.
This week we have been focusing on how we make and keep friends and how we can be part of a group. We began the week asking “what do you like to do with your friends?”. The children took turns playing “follow the leader” and a game called “play with me”. They practiced being good listeners and only talking when it was their turn. “Llama Llama time to share” paved the road to reminding children on taking turns. We emphasized this through the day.
To celebrate friendship week, we made pizzas on friday to share with our classmate. What a wonderful start to the year it has been!
Best regards,
PK 3 Team
Reminders and Important Information
Dear ISP elementary families,
Next week is ISP’s spirit week, culminating with our mojadera day on Friday, February 9th. In honor of the country and community we are part of, and ISP spirit we are asking the support of our elementary school in helping our fourth-graders with their annual service project.
In March the fourth-graders will be visiting our sister school, La Mesa, in El Valle. Our teachers and staff will spend an afternoon with the students sharing supplies, snacks, and playing games. In collaboration with our ISP high school students, we would like to help improve La Mesa school which is currently lacking adequate bathrooms and playground. Therefore, we are asking for the whole ES community’s help.
We will be having a fundraiser proceeding mojadera. Each grade level is encouraged to raise $100. Please talk to your child about ways to contribute to this important service learning event for our fourth-graders. We as a fourth-grade community are grateful for each and every donation!
We will begin collecting money in each classroom beginning Monday, February 5th. Fourth-grade students will collect, count, and keep track of the money daily on thermometers posted near the elementary office.
If each grade’s goal is met then students will have the opportunity to dunk at least one teacher from that grade during mojadera in the dunk tank. If the entire elementary school meets its goal we will dunk at least one admin member at the end of mojadera!
With gratitude,
The fourth-grade team
