In remembrance of Mrs. Bennett . . .

We are saddened that Mildred Bennett, namesake of Dean and Mildred Bennett Elementary, has passed away at the age of 103.

As many of you know, Mrs. Bennett was actively involved at our school which bears her name and was a regular fixture at school functions whenever she was physically able to be present.

She invested 24 years as a teacher in McKinney ISD and a total of nearly 40 years in education.

She was the heart and soul of Bennett Elementary, and she will be deeply missed.

Her funeral service was this morning (Tuesday).
