Fabulous Field Day FUN!

A special THANK YOU to Mrs. Lindsey and our many volunteers for helping with this week's grade level field days! I am often proud to be a member of the English Landing school community and this week was another proud moment. Mrs. Lindsey works tirelessly (arriving to school/Lakeview track by 7am) to create 5 field day experiences or one field day for each grade level (Kindergarten through fourth grade) even though the norm among elementary schools in our area is to hold ONE field day experience for all students. Thank you, Mrs. Lindsey! Many thanks to our volunteers (many who attended multiple field days) because it takes a lot of helping hands! We had enough volunteers in each grade level to ensure our eagles had a memorable time at each of the eight stations! YIPPEE!

Fifth Grade: The English Landing fifth grade students will participate in the annual Melody Gabel Track Meet at the Park Hill High School Track Stadium (Barry Road/Congress) Melody Gabel was the former English Landing PE teacher who taught from 1995 to 2007. Ms. Gabel is remembered for starting this annual track meet with fifth grade students in Park Hill before she passed away of cancer in 2007.

Thursday, May 19, 2016: Fifth Grade Melody Gabel Track Meet from 9:30 AM to 1:45 PM

The rainout date for this is May 23, 2016.

Looking for 2016-2017 Kindergarten Eagles!

On May 9, 2016 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm the English Landing kindergarten team will host Kindergarten Round Up. This evening provides incoming kindergarten students and their families an opportunity to visit our kindergarten classrooms, meet teachers, and explore English Landing. The benefit of this option is that students and families will be able to explore English Landing during the evening time frame.

We look forward to spending this time with you! If you have any additional questions, please contact the EL school office at 359-4370. Thank you!

That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.

Anyone can nominate an employee for this award by using the form below. It asks you to share how your nominee demonstrates our district values of continuous improvement, high expectations, integrity, visionary leadership and student focus.
