Where Its Played
Latin jazz is most commonly played in Cuba, and Brazil. The people who usually listen to the Latin Jazz genre are Brazilians and Cubans. The reason why Latin Jazz in most common played in Cuba and Brazil because that is the origin of this type of music. Some other musical influences I found are Afro-Cuban Jazz and Afro-Brazilian Jazz. The most common interments used in this music genre are the saxophone, keyboard, guitar, bass, violin and percussion. A very popular artist from the latin jazz genre is Tito Puente. A very hard dance that is involved with Latin Jazz is called the Cumbia. Some characteristics of the dance are a very fast pace and lots of spinning. Today, Latin Jazz is all over the U.S. and is still played very often in Cuba and Brazil as well.
