McAllister Minutes
Week of: September 18 -September 22
Irma was strong, but McAllister Wildcats are INCREDIBLE
Though the week was short, it was very much still #INCREDIBLE. Thank you to each and everyone of you that came out to celebrate our TOTY and SMOTY! They are both #INCREDIBLE examples of McAllister and the great work that takes place here.
Next week we look to rebound with a full week of instruction. Please know that you will receive information from me regarding PLPs & PLGs that are to be uploaded in the TKES platform. While we will all be working toward very similar goals as we further establish our PLCs and integrate similar literacy & numeracy strategies, there will also be some unique goals dependent upon your position. Our hope is to reach and exceed our goals through intentional focus on these items.
A few things that you will need to keep on your radar include: Leadership Meeting (Tuesday), Mimio Training (Wednesday), Picture Day (Thursday and RHHS Annual Tailgate to end the week on a great note (Friday)! Parent University has been rescheduled for (9/26 - 6-7:30pm) - I look forward to ALL certified staff members being available and present for this time with parents! We will provide Chik-Fil-A as a quick dinner around 4:45 this evening!
Helping Hands After Harvey
The outpouring support for Ridgegate ES was second to none and greatly appreciated as they welcomed students back on Tuesday and were able to provide them with the needed resources thanks to your generosity. You all devoted the last two days of this week to Denim Day Donations for Ridgegate ES - the response was overwhelming and will most certainly help their cause.
Thank you for your continued Support! Ms. Holmes sent a picture of some of the cards that were received!
Reminders/Updates for the Week
- Playground supervision is a must, while we all enjoy the luxury of sitting in the shade - please ensure that you are actively supervising students. Such cannot be done when under the pavilion and students are on the opposite play ground. Thank you for taking notice of this and actively involving yourselves with students outside the classroom.
- Please make sure parents have readily available access to our master schedule and lunch schedule. Please share this link with them via your newsletter and/or remind: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1T3niPZ9UgNYjlOWktGckZhQU0/view
- Parent University has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 26 at 6pm. Being that you all will be here for a long day, we will be providing Chik-fil-A Sandwiches, chips and a drink for dinner. Thank you for being INCREDIBLE!

Also, if you are interested in having a Secret Pal for the year, please print and complete the “Getting to Know You” attachment. The completed sheet should be turned in to Mary Waters by September 22.
Secret Pals is just a way to do little things for someone and put a smile on their face (especially when needed). This could be a snack, card, present, gift card, magazine, favorite drink, or something else under $5. There is no set schedule but something about twice a month is recommended. For the final reveal, we will give a gift to our Secret Pal that costs between $15-$20. You will reveal yourself to your Secret Pal during the last week of school.
