Re: Recruitment of Volunteers for Mock Interviews.
Dear Members
My name is Valerie Reddy and I am the Coordinator of Carlow Jobs Club which has been operational in Carlow Town for the last 13 years. Jobs club is a non-profitable organisation, funded by DSP and hosted by Carlow County Development Partnership Ltd. Jobseekers are offered structured guidance on returning to the work force through the Jobs Club Programme. We have recently moved to our new bigger premises (The Royal Mews, 9 Dublin Street) and can now offer more services to participants.
Carlow Jobs Club is now seeking volunteers who have experience of conducting interviews to form a panel to give participants the opportunity to sit a mock inteview. I believe this to be an important part of the programme as many of our participants are long term unemployed or have never attended an interview. This opportunity to sit a mock interview will reduce stress and anxiety about interviewing, help boost their confidence, provide them with constructive feedback in a ‘stress free’ environment and allow participants to preview any interviewing weakness they may have.
Mock Interviews will take place every three weeks, (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) depending on the size of the groups. Jobs Club intends to form a large panel which will mean that volunteers will only have to give their time, experience and skills every 6-9 weeks on whatever days suits them the most.
What better way is there to connect with your community and give a little back? If you would like to be a part of the Jobs Club Team and Mock Interview Panel contact myself or Ann on the above number or email. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully
Valerie Reddy
Eirgrid Breakfast Briefing Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow
The Grid Link Project is a €500 million investment in the South and East region proposed by EirGrid as part of the Grid25 strategy to upgrade the national grid. A region with a high quality, secure supply of electricity is best placed to attract inward investment that will bring employment and prosperity.
In September, the project reached a significant milestone as EirGrid published the Stage 1 Report and for the first time, identified a number of feasible 1 kilometre wide route corridors which can accommodate Cathis new transmission line, that will provide a platform for economic growth and job creation in the South and East.
Public consultation runs from the 3rd September for twelve weeks until Tuesday, 26th November 2013.
EirGrid encourages participation from all interested parties in this public consultation and welcomes feedback to inform the next stage of the project.
EirGrid is delighted to host a breakfast briefing for members of Co Carlow Chamber on October 22nd to bring you up to date with recent significant developments regarding the Grid Link Project.
