AVUHSD Honors 2020 Employees of the Year

Monica Marquez - Classified Employee of the Year

Antelope Valley High School nominated an employee that goes above and beyond for the students at AVHS. Monica connects with the students every day as the Pupil Service Technician and always makes sure they understand whatever they are being helped with – FAFSA, finding and applying for scholarships, and working through a college application. Ms. Marquez has always been a student advocate while being one of the most caring persons on the AVHS campus. Congratulations to Monica Marquez, AV High School’s 2020 Site-Level Classified Employee of the Year and the overall AVUHSD 2020 Employee of the Year.

Timothy Green - Teacher of the Year & Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year

Highland High School’s teacher, Timothy Green, consistently represents the mission, values, and spirit of not only the educational institution that AVUHSD stands by but also our community at large. Mr. Green has been an educator within our district for nearly two decades and in this time, he has had the unique opportunity to influence, mentor, and elicit change in the minds, emotions, and lives of many young individuals that have walked through the gates of the district sites. Timothy has respect and admiration that he provokes from students, parents, and faculty alike – he earns this through the genuine nature that he shows to all those he interacts with on a daily basis. Congratulations to Timothy Green, Highland High School’s 2020 Site-Level Teacher of the Year, AVUHSD 2020 Teacher of the Year, and Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year.
