Roselawn Round Up
Weekly Newsletter for Roselawn Families September 21, 2020
We continue to have a great stretch of weather and we are taking advantage of it whenever possible. Our students continue to do a great job and we are proud of them for working so hard to start off the school year.
Enjoy the week ahead!

Library Books
Our students will soon have the opportunity to check out books from our school library. Our library staff has put a lot of time and thought into developing a process that will keep all of our students safe. For our lower elementary, books will be pulled from the shelves, delivered to classrooms, and students will have many options from there to select a book they are interested in. Our upper elementary will be able to use technology to put books on hold and these will be delivered to their classrooms. We will be practicing exceptional hygiene while handling the books. Once the books are returned, we will hold the books for 72 hours before placing them back in circulation. These are practices that public libraries are using.
We are also asking families to search their homes for any books that may have been checked out last year. Your son/daughter should have brought home a library slip this weekend if he/she has any books that are still checked out. If we can get these returned as soon as possible, this will give our students even more choices as they check out books.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Weekend Kids Meals
Last week, your son or daughter brought home information about our Weekend Kids' Meal program. The program's purpose is to offer children in Bright Beginnings (4K) through Grade 5 meals for the weekends when school meals are not available. There are no income guidelines or requirements, and anyone is welcome to participate in this program. The food is at NO COST to you or your child. If you are interested in signing up your child(ren), please return the form to your child's teacher no later than Friday, September 25. The first distribution of bags will occur on Friday, October 2, for students in 5K-5th grade and Thursday, October 1, for our Bright Beginnings students.
