Broken Arrow Weekly Update
Looking Forward to the Week of February 27-March 3
Message from Mrs. Green
With the information that was shared from our Superintendent, Dr. Anthony Lewis, Friday evening, I am sure there are many questions and feelings of uncertainty. The information you have is the same information I have. If new information is provided, I will update our BA community ASAP.
Currently the information provided is that Broken Arrow is one of three elementary schools that will be recommended to the Board of Education for closure. The Board will meet on Monday, February 27th at 6:00pm to discuss this as well as other business.
I hope that all of our Broken Arrow family and community members know how incredibly committed our staff is to the well-being and growth of the students we serve. This focus will not change as we go through this difficult time. After our staff learned of this news on Friday afternoon, there were tears and frustration. But at the end of our meeting, we broke out in our BA Eagle chant that ends with, "We are the Eagles, THAT'S WHO!"
Broken Arrow Eagles are the absolute best and we will continue to embrace, challenge and celebrate each of our students as we move through this difficult time, together.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions and thanks for checking out our newsletter below.
P/T Conferences are March 8th and 9th
Also, check out the graphic below for a FUN and INTERACTIVE learning activity that will be happening at conferences: Cooking with Math!
We can't wait to see you all there!

Your Support is NEEDED!
Looking ahead to conferences, your friendly BA PTA has a couple of sign-ups that parents can help to support! Please consider signing up to volunteer at the Book Fair (open during conferences) or to bring teacher snacks during conferences. Thanks in advance for your support!

Marathon Club Begins Again on Monday, March 20th
The purpose of Marathon Club is to work towards or achieve the goal of running/walking the number of miles in a marathon (26.2 miles). To achieve this, most students need to focus on their goal and attend the Fall and Spring Marathon Club sessions. Due to this, there is usually only one opportunity to sign up for Marathon Club in the Fall.
However, this Spring, Marathon Club will be open to new students even if you did not attend Marathon Club in the Fall.
Please note: It is highly unlikely that students will be able to achieve the miles needed to earn marathon status if they did not attend the Fall sessions. But, if your student is looking for a great way to exercise this spring, Marathon Club will be welcoming new students.
Please remember that Marathon Club is for 1st-5th graders only. Kindergartners can participate if their guardian attends with them. If you would like to sign your student up for Marathon Club, please ask the front office for a registration form.
Send any questions to bamarathonclub@gmail.com.
